Artists in the community are invited to submit art for the 22nd Annual Moraine Valley Community College Juried Community Art Exhibition, scheduled May 30 to July 31 in the Fine and Performing Arts Center’s (FPAC) Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery and atrium, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills.
This annual exhibit is for artists older than 18 years, living within a 50-mile radius of a Moraine Valley campus – Blue Island, Palos Hills or Tinley Park. Works can be in any fine art media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, photography, printmaking, ceramics, metal, sculpture and mixed media. All entries must be original and not submitted in previous years. Artists can enter up to two pieces created in the last five years. Artwork and the $15 entry fee should be delivered to the gallery between May 20 and 22, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Artists will be notified of accepted pieces on Tuesday, May 27.
All pieces will be judged by professional visual artist, professor of art and art curator, Nikkole Huss. Winning works will receive awards. A reception will take place in the gallery on Saturday, May 31, 1 to 5 p.m., with the awards presentation at 2 p.m.
