Two Academic Music ensembles will perform in April at the Moraine Valley Community College Fine and Performing Arts Center (FPAC). Both performances are free.
The Flute Choir will present “Soar on the Wind” on Friday, April 11, 7 p.m., in the John and Angeline Oremus Theater. All the performed pieces will explore themes related to the wind.
The Orchestra will perform “One-Book One-Orchestra” on Sunday, April 27, 3 p.m., in the Dorothy Menker Theater. The concert repertoire aligns with the college’s One Book, One College “Disability Visibility” theme throughout the academic year. The concert will include pieces by composers who experienced disabilities such as blindness, deafness, malformities, depression and schizophrenia, including works from Beethoven, Delius, Bach, Molly Joyce, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles and “The Pinball Wizard.”
