Acquire skills for manufacturing jobs at no cost to you
People considering a new career in manufacturing, but who don’t think they can afford school, are encouraged to take advantage of a grant program that could fund their education at no cost to them.
Moraine Valley Community College is partnering with the Calumet Area Industrial Commission (CAIC) to offer eligible persons an opportunity to get the education and training needed for a new manufacturing career through America’s Promise Grant.
This grant helps people earn a trade certificate or associate degree at Moraine Valley. Eligible participants receive classroom instruction that provides skills and industry-recognized credentials to secure employment.
Skills training and education focus on employment in various manufacturing-related fields, including industrial electricity, industrial mechanics, CAD/mechanical design technology, manufacturing technology, welding, computer electronics technology, and more.
Students receive guidance in selecting a manufacturing career path, employment placement assistance, scholarships to pay for their education, and ongoing coaching to help meet education and career goals.
