All Academic Music performances take place in the Dorothy Menker Theater unless otherwise noted. Chorale and Chamber Singers performances are reserved seating, all other performances are free general admission.

Moraine Chorale and Chamber Singers
Under the direction of Nicholas Thomas, the Moraine Chorale celebrates its 20th season performing five themed concerts, including Broadway music, patriotic, and holiday selections with a small chamber orchestra. The Chorale is a community-based choir with more than 75 members. The Chamber Singers is an ensemble featuring Moraine Valley students.

Swinging into their 21st season, this 20-member big band explores a wide range of styles from the classic swing of Duke Ellington and Count Basie to soulful blues, burning Latin jazz and gritty funk. The band also features contemporary works by such composers as Bill Holman and Bob Florence and iconic vocal arrangements such as those performed by Ella Fitzgerald and Nat King Cole. All Jazz Ensemble performances are free general admission.

Moraine Valley Concert Band
The Moraine Valley Concert Band presents their 13th season with three themed concerts including our annual holiday concert, a world music concert featuring sounds from various cultures around the world, and concert for “kids” of all ages complete with an instrument petting zoo! The band is comprised of over 50 college students and adult community members who play woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. All Concert Band performances are free general admission.

The Moraine Valley Concert Band presents an afternoon concert with activities for children of all ages, including an instrument “petting zoo” where kids can take turns playing the various band instruments.

The Moraine Valley Flute Choir is made up of college students and community members. They are currently enjoying their 9th season performing two concerts per semester; one on campus and one off campus at various area nursing homes. Their musical performances explore flute music from a wide range of eras and styles. All Flute Choir performances are free general admission.
The Percussion Ensemble celebrates their 13th season with two dynamic, high-energy performances featuring a wide range of music styles performed on marimbas, vibraphones, xylophones, drum set, timpani, bongos, congas, trash cans, cookware, cowbells and much more! This 15- to 20-member group is always wonderfully engaging and entertaining. All Percussion Ensemble performances are free general admission.
