Maryann Flock

Maryann Flock is energizing the music of the masters AND beyond with her dynamic conducting. Her endeavors have spanned the United States and Europe. Flock served as the conductor and music director of the celebrated Fox Valley Philharmonic Orchestra. She has commanded various other ensembles including the Suburban Youth Symphony Orchestra, Illinois State University, and Benedictine University. While at Benedictine, her ensembles were selected to perform for dignitaries: President George Bush and wife Barbara Bush, Mikhail Gorbachev, Colin Powell, Madeleine Albright and Julie Andrews. Additionally, Flock is the founding director of the New Horizons Band DuPage, now in its 25th season. New Horizons’ ensembles have presented and participated in the National Association for Music Education in Illinois and Ohio. Active as a versatile musician, Flock teaches and performs oboe, voice, and piano at Moraine Valley, New Horizons DuPage, various Chicagoland events, and through her private studio. Flock holds degrees from Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana, and from Illinois State University.
