The Moraine Valley Orchestra welcomes to the podium the college’s retiring president, Dr. Sylvia M. Jenkins, conducting John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever” as a tribute to Dr. Jenkins’ service to Moraine Valley and support of the fine arts.

We also welcome Chicagoland’s favorite violinist, Linda Veleckis Nussbaum, performing Camille Saint-Saëns’ passionate and energetic “Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso.” Also, on the concert are excerpts from Johannes Brahms’ “Symphony No. 1.” Brahms paid homage to Beethoven by writing in his style. Brahms’ also paid the price for such a tribute as critics dub Brahms’ symphony, “Beethoven’s 10th.”
