Hey FitRec members, are you one of our regular lap swimmers? If so, then check out a fun challenge that returns this October, “The Big Swim!”
The purpose of “The Big Swim” is to provide some friendly competition for our lap swimmers by recording their laps over a four-week stretch in the month of October. Interested participants can sign up with a FitRec lifeguard during the month of September, but late registrations will be accepted in October. There is no cost to participate, but participants do need to register with a lifeguard.
Participants will track their laps every time they use the FitRec pool during the entire month of October (Oct. 1-31) and give their daily lap total to the lifeguard at the end of their workout. Please note that participants will be solely responsible for providing their lap totals to the lifeguard as lifeguards will not be counting laps. Lap counting is on the honor system and any swim technique can be used.
Lane reservations will still be required for lap swim and participants will be restricted to their lane reservation time slot. Results will be updated and posted weekly in the FitRec pool area as well as on the FitRec website. At the end of October, the final results will be totaled and the top 20 finishers will win a small prize. Top 20 finishers will be contacted in early November.
