FitRec is pleased to announce its first fitness program specifically aimed at lap swimmers and the 6-week demo is coming for the Fall 2 session!

In just a few days, FitRec will debut this program as a 6-week demo class for members to sign up and try out.

On Wednesday, October 30, there will be a FREE demo class offered from 7-7.30 pm, so interested members can experience the class first hand before signing up. Each class has eight spots available, so if interested in attending this free demo, please e-mail Ewan Gall, Aquatics Facilitator at FitRec, at gallE2@morainevalley.edu. If demand increases, more demos will be added.

As this is a demo program, FitRec only has three time-slots available for this 6-week session. However, the goal is to have the class running at multiple time-slots on various days throughout the week starting in the New Year.  Below are the class details:

SWIMFIT

Here at FitRec, we have new program to demo! SwimFit is an instructional class using the lap pool, mixing land and water strength exercises with traditional swim train­ing. Participants will use Aquastrength equipment and experience this unique method of strength training in combination with the various drills. Whether you are a swimmer looking to bring the gym into your swim train­ing or a regular gym user looking for an alternative pool-based workout class, SwimFit may be the new challenge for your workout routine.

Prerequisites

Swimmers of moderate ability and above. Goggles are also recommended.

Registration required. Registration closes at 5 pm the day before first class.

Dates/Times/Duration

6-week block for each time-slot. Classes are 30 minutes each.

Every Monday (Nov. 4 until Dec. 9) Two classes: 6:30-7 am and 7-7:30 am

Every Wednesday (Nov. 6 until Dec. 11) 7 to 7:30 pm
