More About Kyle

Strongest area of swim coaching

I specialize in teaching higher level swimmers, those with some experience in the water, and those who may have swam at a competitive level previously. I can still, however, teach all levels.

Swim Coaching Experiences

In the summers of 2012 and 2013, I helped coach Age Group Competitive swimming for the Palos Area Swim Sharks, based out of Shepard High School. For the 2013 and 2014 summer seasons, I work at Alsip Park District as a Swim Instructor, teaching American Red Cross Learn to Swim Levels 1-5. I spent one Fall season with Oak Lawn Park District, teaching ARC Learn to Swim Levels 1-5. As of February 2015, I have taught here at the FitRec as an Ellis learn-to-swim coach for levels beginner through advanced.

Mention any swimming achievements

11 years as a Competitive Swimmer (7 years for the Palos Area Swim Sharks [Age Group Competitive], 4 Years on Richards High School Men’s Varsity Swimming [1 Year Varsity Captain]) 4 Years Water Polo Player (1 year for Richards Area Water Polo, 3 years for District 218 Hawks Varsity Men’s Water Polo)

What is your coaching style

I like to focus on the core skills we need to work on to get you to succeed in the water. Once we can get those things down, I want you to enjoy whatever time you do spend in the water.

What is your philosophy/motto

“You have to work hard now to have fun later.” Learning how to swim is one of the most rewarding experiences in the world. As a human being, you reclaim one of the skills you’re born with. Mastering it in a fun way will encourage you to continue to be a lifelong swimmer.
