Moraine Valley has been reviewing the transcripts of former students to award any unearned degrees or certificates. We have also identified thousands of students who are within one to four courses of completing a credential. How do I find out how close I am to earning my degree?
The best option is to visit the Academic Advising Center in Building S, Room S201, and meet with an Academic Advisor. They will provide a degree audit of your coursework and discuss any missing requirements. For the Degree Completion Project only, advisors will also provide advising via phone. Please note that the Academic Advisor will need to confirm your identity before providing any information about your academic record. Academic Advising can be reached at (708) 974-5721.
I completed the missing courses at another college or university. Can I use these credits?
Most likely. If the courses were taken at an accredited college or university and are equivalent to the Moraine Valley course, the transfer credit is generally accepted. Even if you transferred and finished another degree, it is possible for you to transfer some credits back to Moraine Valley so that your degree or certificate can be awarded. For example, some students did not complete Speech (COM-103) or a college-level Math course before transferring. Most students complete these courses for their Bachelor’s requirements, and could transfer the credit back to Moraine Valley to earn their Associate’s Degree.

How can I re-enroll to finish my degree or certificate?
We want to make finishing as simple as possible for you. If you have been away from Moraine Valley for more than six semesters, the Registration Office can reactivate your account. The Registration staff can also complete your course registration over the phone. Before calling, please take a look at the course offerings so you are prepared to provide the course and section number to the Registration Representative over the phone. Once you register, you can ask to be connected with the Cashier’s Office to make payment. A direct line to Registration for Degree Completion Project students is available at (708) 974-5411.
You may also meet with an Academic Advisor in-person for assistance with course requirements. Once done meeting with the Advisor, you will be able to register and pay in-person.
