Certified Production Technician
The Certified Production Technician program aligns with the manufacturing Skills Standards Council’s standards for high skilled, front-line production workers covering core competency areas of manufacturing. Classes cover quality, safety, production processes, and maintenance. Each workshop attendee receives a Moraine Valley Community College certificate of attendance and the appropriate adult education credit. Each workshop attendee will be eligible to take an assessment exam in each of the two areas for certification from MSSC. Lean/Six Sigma’s business-driven, structured approach improves processes, lowers defects, reduces costs, and increases customer satisfaction and profits. Participants normally are process owners or leaders and are well versed in technical aspects of their jobs and team projects. Classes include Introduction to Lean Six Sigma, Six Sigma Green Belt and Lean Boot Camp–Customized. As of May 2012, the median annual wage for industrial production managers was $89,190. The employment of industrial production managers is projected to show little or no change from 2012 to 2022. Most of these managers are employed in various manufacturing industries, and will experience growth or decline along with the industries in which they are employed. Individuals who successfully complete MP5-451 Six Sigma Green Belt will be prepared to take the quality process analyst, quality improvement associate and/or six sigma green belt certification exams administered by the American Society of Quality (ASQ).
