The recent three-time Skyway conference and Region IV championship Cyclone women’s soccer team is adding to its arsenal after signing two strong players—Anna Kois and Lauren Pikulski.
Kois is a versatile player from Stagg High School who has played at high levels throughout her young career. She is a midfielder/forward who can create goal opportunities as well as score them herself. The last few years she’s played at the varsity level for Stagg as well as with Legacy Soccer Club.
“I am very excited about Anna deciding to continue her education and soccer career at Moraine Valley. She is someone who immediately makes us an even better team and more dangerous around the goal,” said Cyclones head Coach Al Palar.
Pikulski is a strong defender hailing from Lockport Township High School. The Cyclones only have two returning starting defenders, so this signing is key. Pikulski is close friends with Lockport grads and current Cyclones Brooke Janeczek and Sylvia Kordaczka, both of whom have spoken highly of her.
“I watched her play and knew right away she would slide right into our backline comfortably. She has shown a lot of excitement and positive energy throughout the whole recruiting process that I know will carry onto the field and into the classroom,” Palar said. “Signing a player like Lauren is huge for us. She’s a strong defender who solidifies our backline. She has a great attitude and can’t wait to get started.”
