Fire Service Management

The Fire Service Management A.A.S. is perfect for current fire service company officers and for firefighters preparing to challenge promotional tests. The degree prepares current fire fighters for future leadership positions in fire service. Completing the core courses for the degree helps firefighters meet eligibility requirements for certification as a Fire Officer 1 and a Fire Officer 2 through the Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office.

Graduates work in municipal fire department’s suppression divisions, fire inspection bureaus, fire investigation bureaus, fire insurance companies, etc. To prepare you for a job in the competitive fire service management, we offer courses during the day, evening and on weekends. Many courses are offered at fire stations within the district so students have easy access to state-of-the-art equipment.

Proficiency Credit allows students to receive credit for vocational, noncredit training for which certificates have been earned.

The process is not immediate and planning ahead is encouraged. . There are no prerequisites for enrollment in Moraine Valley’s Fire Service Management Program.

You may register in either the fall, spring or summer semesters. When you register, please mention that you are in the 1262 (Fire Science) curriculum.
