This program is designed to provide students with employment or advancement in business, industry, government, or service organizations. The curriculum is intended to serve the needs of students who want to enter management positions and to enable those already in management to upgrade their skills and potential for growth. This program includes an internship/seminar component.

What Can I Do With This Degree?

After completing training in these programs, graduates will be qualified to work in a number of baker or pastry chef niches including wedding and cake design, culinary desserts, food safety, chocolates and confections, bread making and pastry design. 

Job Outlook

Employment of bakers is projected to grow 8 percent from 2016 to 2026, about as fast as the average for all occupations. Bakers with years of experience should have the best job opportunities, with employment driven by the growing demand for specialty baked products.
