Founded in 1967 following the passage of a voter referendum, Moraine Valley Community College has a tradition of providing area residents a quality education at an affordable cost. The college is one of the largest in the state of Illinois and has seen consistent enrollment growth through the decades. This growth has resulted in the expansion of learning and student service spaces across the nearly 300 acre campus in Palos Hills and the opening of sites in Blue Island (2004) and Tinley Park (2010).
The college’s mission is to educate the whole person in a learning-centered environment, recognizing our responsibilities to one another, to our community, and to the world we share. We value excellence in teaching, learning and service as we maintain sensitivity to our role in a global, multicultural community. We are committed to continuous improvement and dedicated to providing accessible, affordable, and diverse learning opportunities and environments.
