The mission of the Coding Specialist program at Moraine Valley Community College is to promote excellence and integrity in the coding profession. We provide our students with the training, education and practical awareness necessary to succeed. The Coding Specialist program takes the responsibility to educate and develop a skilled work force to support the needs of the health care industry.
Admissions and Transfer Information
There are no prerequisites for enrollment in Moraine Valley's Coding Specialist Certificate Program. You may register for classes in either the fall, spring or summer semesters.
Moraine Valley is a comprehensive, full-service community college with an open-door admission policy for high school graduates or others qualified to enter. Admission is available to individuals 18 or older who are high school graduates/GED recipients.
Select courses (Medical Terminology and Computer courses) may be transferred in following a conference with the Program Coordinator. Coding courses and Health Information Technology courses are not able to be transferred.
