An array of art from the annual Moraine Valley Community College Juried Community Art Exhibition will be on display through July 31 in the Fine and Performing Arts Center’s (FPAC) Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery and atrium, 9000 W. College Parkway in Palos Hills.
Photos, paintings, drawings and works from artists in the community were judged by Jacob Boglio, a painter and sculptor who is a teaching artist at Art on Sedgwick and an adjunct instructor of sculpture at Trinity Christian College. The following awards were presented during a reception on June 1:
First place – Peter Bosy, of Orland Park, for graphite on paper, “Celebrate”

Second place – Kristine Christensen, of Oak Forest, for metal, “Spillover”

Third place – Carl Tocwish, of Hometown, for marker and pastel, “Downtown Chicago”

Honorable mention – Dijon Barrett, of Blue Island, for mixed media sculpture and paint, “Calder’s Flamingo”

Honorable mention – Carol Melnyk, of Indian Head Park, for oil and acrylic on canvas, “Tape Wants to be Art”

Honorable mention – Jane Erlandson, of Gilberts, for mixed media, “Reserved”
