A Proud Past, A Bright Future, Together

Dr. Pamela J. Haney became Moraine Valley’s sixth president on July 1. “As I begin my presidency, I promise to build on the college’s excellent foundation while advancing student success, innovation, community engagement and mission driven priorities,” she said.

She previously served as vice president for Academic Affairs, a position she assumed in 2012. Her leadership at Moraine Valley is committed to ensuring student success and accessibility, advancing innovation, engaging our communities and supporting the mission of the college.

Dr. Haney begins presidency with focus on future

The Five Themes for the Future

Dr. Pamela J. Haney got right to work after moving into the President’s Office on July 3. In her First 100 Days, she prioritized meeting with key stakeholders both on and off campus to begin building meaningful relationships and better understand their unique expectations of the college. She also represented the college during meetings for national, state and local organizations, held a retreat for the Board of Trustees, gave welcome remarks and attended several student and college events, and gave interviews.

One of the highlights for Dr. Haney was a Listening Tour where she met with college employees and students. During these sessions, she took copious notes after asking them to share their thoughts about the things they would like to change at Moraine Valley, things they would like to keep, their expectations of her and anything they are afraid will happen.

After the tour, she organized the information she had gathered into five themes she will focus on during her presidency. She shared these themes and some of the supporting comments during the spring 2024 In service for employees.
