The Student Support Services (SSS) program at
Moraine Valley Community College is one of three
TRIO
educational opportunity programs established by the United States Department
of Education. It is specifically designed
to help first-generation, low-income and disabled students with academic needs
succeed in college. SSS provides the
tools to stay in college, as well as personal development and academic support.
The goal of the program is to help students
graduate from Moraine Valley and transfer to a four-year institution to complete
a bachelor's (four-year) degree. If you
qualify for the program you will be provided:
- Academic and personal support
- Computer technology assistance
- Cultural activities and events
- Financial assistance/scholarship search
- Tours to colleges and universities
- Tutoring and study groups
- Workshops
