People Who Made a
Difference
Comments from
Moraine Valley graduates about people at the college who made a difference in
their lives
SCOTT Murdoch, assistant professor, Biology
“…Mr. Murdoch was the best professor I have ever had. I went into the class
hating biology and walked out at the end of the semester in great awe of how
amazing life is. He was always willing to help and could put any subject into
real-life examples. He made such a difference in my life that I actually
appreciate science and biology now instead of being ignorant to how human and
other living organisms operate. Big thanks to Mr. Murdoch for being such an
outstanding professor!”
–Amanda Cerf, Oak Lawn
JIM Greer, professor/coordinator, Welding
“Mr. Greer has been a great inspiration to not only me but also the welding
community as a whole. Those who have been taught under him wear his name as a
badge of honor, ‘student of Jim Greer.’ In the five years I was his student and
he served as my mentor, he has not only satisfied my desire to become a
professional welder but also helped me to fulfill my dreams to become an
instructor as well. For this, I am truly thankful. In my years to come, I hope
to be able to inspire my students as he inspired me.”
–Edward Popelas, Chicago
AILEEN Donnersberger, director/instructor,
Education; department chair, Social Sciences
“Let me start off by saying, she is awesome! When I took my first education
class, it had been some 20 years since high school. I was very frightened. She
very quickly put me at ease and let me know that she was available any time I
needed her. She was such an inspiration; she not only taught me about being an
educator–she made me look at myself as a person and made me strive to be a
better person. She is very knowledgeable in her field.
–Ann Spadoni, Blue Island
