EMS-101 Emergency Medical Technician EMT-B licensure is a prerequisite to the Emergency Services Certificate Program. Students who pass the EMS-101 class with at least an 82% average, pass all practical exams, and complete all clinical rotations are eligible to challenge either the Illinois State EMT-B licensure exam or the National EMT-B exam. Moraine Valley Community College is a comprehensive, full-service community college with an open door admission policy for high school graduates or others qualified to enter. Admission is available to individuals 18 years or older who are high school graduates or GED recipients and capable of benefiting from college-level instruction; in order to participate in the clinical experience and to be licensed as an EMT-B the EMS student must be at least 18 years old. Checks Emergency Medical Services Certificate/Paramedic Training (EMT-P) Upon successful completion of EMS-101 and successfully passing of either the Illinois State EMT-B written exam or the EMT-B National Registry exam, students may apply to the paramedic program of their choice. Moraine Valley Community College has articulated a Cooperative Agreement with the Advocate Christ Hospital and Medical Center Paramedic Program.
