The Emergency Medical Services program is designed
for students intending to go into the public or private sector as EMT-Paramedics.
The EMT-Paramedic provides the most extensive pre-hospital care, which includes
administration of medications orally and intravenously, endotracheal intubation,
and defibrillations of patients in lethal arrhythmias. The EMT-Paramedic
is employed in a number of industries, including the private ambulance service,
municipal fire department or facility responses on helicopters and fixed wing
transport vehicles.

Graduation Requirements
Successful completion of all course
requirements and the minimum number of credit hours for the specific
certificate; minimum overall grade point average of 2.0 in the courses required
for the certificate; at least 50 percent of the certificate hours must be
completed at Moraine Valley; submission of graduation petition to the Records Office by
