Immigration Advising
Instructions for Transfer
Students
Please
be advised that if you are transferring to Moraine Valley, according to the U.S.
Citizenship and Immigration Service regulations, you must complete the
following to process your legal transfer to Moraine Valley Community College and
remain in legal F-1 student visa status. Failure to complete these procedures
will cause you to be out of status and in violation your F-1 student
regulations.

Notify your present school of your intent to
transfer and have the school fill out the International Student Transfer
Form.

Apply and be admitted to Moraine Valley
Community College.

Submit valid passport information-photograph
page, passport expiration date and I-94 Arrival Departure Record. Include
photocopies of any F2 dependents.

During the first week of orientation and
before classes begin, you must report to the International Student Affairs
Office and speak to the International Student Admissions Specialist to process and complete the required
USCIS transfer
procedure.

Your transfer is considered
pending
until you register for classes.

Page 1 of your new SEVIS I-20 must be dated
and signed by a Designated School Official to complete the transfer process.
