Department Program Coordinators
If you have questions pertaining to
particular courses, certificates or degrees within the IMS department, please
contact one of the program coordinators.
Academic
Advising
The IMS department offers several certificate programs and two degrees: Management Information Systems A.A.S. and
Office Systems and Applications A.A.S. The A.A.S. is a career degree and is not designed to transfer to a four-year
institution in its entirety; however, many of the courses within the degree will
transfer. Students planning to transfer should
coordinate those efforts with an advisor in the Academic Advising Center, which
is located in the College Center, C240. Call (708) 974-5721 to make
an appointment. Students wishing to pursue a four-year degree may also
consider 2+2 programs which allow students to transfer with an A.A.S. degree.
Examples of such programs are the Business and Applied Science degree at Governors
State University and the Bachelor of Science in Professional Arts with a
specialization in Applied Organizational Management at the University of St.
Francis, Joliet.
Counseling
and Career Development Center
Counselors provide educational counseling to help students select a major,
career counseling to help decide a career direction, academic counseling to help
improve grades, and counseling for students who want to discuss personal
problems. The center is located in the College Center, C220. Call (708)
974-5722 for more information.
Job
Placement Center
The Job Placement Center provides full- and part-time job listings, employer
resources, job search skills workshops, job registry services, and student aide
positions for students seeking on-campus employment. The center is located
in the Center for Contemporary Technology, T904. Call (708) 974-5737
for more information. |
