IMS-100 Computer Skills Survey

To test your current skill level and to determine if IMS-100 is an appropriate course for you, print this survey and answer Yes or No to the following statements:

I can identify the primary hardware components of a personal computer, such as the monitor, system unit, keyboard, mouse, floppy drive, and hard drive.

 5. I know what it means when a disk is formatted.    
 6. I know the correct way to insert a diskette in a floppy drive.    
 7. I am familiar with the Windows desktop (icons, taskbar)

 9. I can close/exit a program in Windows.    
10. I can copy, delete, and rename files in Windows    
11. I can create folders and subfolders in Windows.

If you answered No to four or more statements above, it will be to your benefit as a student to enroll in IMS-100, Personal Computer Basics.  Students enrolled in IMS-101 and IMS-115 are assumed to possess a minimal amount of personal computer knowledge and skill.  Students with little or no previous computer experience are strongly encouraged to enroll in IMS 100 prior to or concurrent with enrollment in IMS-101 or IMS-115.
