How do I apply to the Program?
No application is necessary – all
you need to do is register for PHB-110. Choose from one of the class sections
listed above. For additional information on registration procedures, visit
www.morainevalley.edu/admiss/registration.htm.
How do I enroll in the Program?
Select the section of PHB-110 you
would like to enroll in (see the list above). Register for the section of
PHB-110 you have selected either in person, on the phone (708) 974-2110 or on
the web
www.morainevalley.edu/admiss/admissions.htm.
Does PHB-110 fill quickly?
Characteristically, PHB-110 fills
quickly, so it is in your best interest to register as soon as possible.
Students are encouraged to register for PHB-110 as soon as possible to assure
their seat in the class. For additional information on registration procedures,
please visit the college’s Web site or call (708) 974-2110.
If you attempt to register and find that the
seats in the class are all full, don’t give up! Often times people register for
the class and then change their minds for a variety of personal reasons – family
emergency, spouse transfer to another location, pregnancy, etc. Unfortunately,
there is no mechanism by which a waiting list could be created.
Therefore, if you attempt to register and find
the classes are full, continue to check the enrollments. The easiest way to do
that is by consulting the “Real Time Class Availability” link located on the
following link:
http://www.morainevalley.edu/schedule/index.asp. Retrieve the information
for PHB-110 and register immediately when you see that a seat is available.
When will I do my clinical training?
Upon successful completion of
PHB-110, students may enroll in PHB-111, “Phlebotomy Clinical Practice Seminar”
and PHB-112, “Phlebotomy Clinical Practice”. Students receive clinical
experience during PHB-112. The clinical rotations are three weeks in length and
staggered throughout the semester. Some students who complete PHB-110 during
fall semester 2008 will begin their three-week rotations as early as the end of
January. Other students will not begin their clinical rotations until the end of
November.
How are clinicals assigned?
Upon successful completion of
PHB-110, students may enroll in PHB-111, “Phlebotomy Clinical Seminar” and
PHB-112, “Phlebotomy Clinical Practice”. Clinical assignments are decided by
lottery. Whoever pulls #1 selects their clinical assignment first, including
dates and location. Most students end up with their first or second choice of
clinical assignment.

the following resources:
First, please call the Moraine Valley Community
