Message from the Director

Greetings and welcome to the Fine and Performing Arts Center!

Support for our programming continues to grow and I’m pleased to say we entertained more than 20,000 people last season in the Dorothy Menker Theater, the John and Angeline Oremus Theater, and the Robert F. DeCaprio Art Gallery. We hope to continue that upward trend in the 2008-09 season and reach even more patrons.

Now that I have had some time to settle in as the new managing director, I am ready to dive into my first full season. Get ready for some great entertainment, from outstanding academic theater and music productions to professional comedy, drama and music.

I’m also happy to announce our first membership drive. This is not just “another membership drive.” Funds received from this membership drive will help create a ticket gift fund offered to area schools to help them purchase tickets to our Theater For Young Audiences and other family shows. Every $5 purchases a ticket for an area student! Your membership can help ensure that more children have the opportunity to experience live theater.

In keeping with the college's momentum toward environmental sustainability, we here at the center are refocusing our daily operations, using supplies that are more earth-friendly and engaging in practices that help to reduce the impact on the planet.

We invite you to become part of these exciting transformations at our Fine and Performing Arts Center.

Join us for the 2008-09 season and continue to make the center your destination for world-class entertainment! If you have any questions or comments, feel free to contact me at henselT2@morainevalley.edu or (708) 974-5500. I welcome your input. Thank you again for your support of the arts right here in the southwest suburbs of Chicago.

Tommy Hensel
Managing Director
