Quick Facts
The Economic Development Council for the Southwest Suburbs (EDCSS) drives the strategic planning
that stimulates and creates a healthy
business climate within the Moraine Valley community. The EDCSS brings together
a coalition of leaders from various sectors working together for the economic
well-being of the area. Mission
To stimulate and support a healthy
business climate by utilizing and coordinating our political, business, and
educational resources to benefit the 26 communities that comprise the Moraine
Valley district.
Structure
Through the EDCSS advisory board,
committees create and implement communication and outreach
programs to acquire and disseminate information to the business
community through events, symposiums and business assistance.
Outreach
The EDCSS sponsors an annual spring
breakfast and regional events in cooperation with Chambers of Commerce, Cook
County, the state of Illinois, and local economic development professionals. In
addition, the
EDCSS sponsors an annual Small Business Awards program to publicly

Economic Development
EDCSS, with CCCE, brings together representatives from all sectors of the
community to create a shared vision, while capitalizing on the strengths
within our communities to forge ahead as a single unit. This creates job
growth and retention, a more educated/trained workforce, and an increase in
the tax base, all of which contribute to the well-being and attractiveness
of our community.
Comprehensive consulting services, advice and assistance for entrepreneurs
and start-up companies are provided by the SCORE counselors at Moraine
Valley and entrepreneurial assistance through CCCE.
