PROMISE STATEMENT
We promise to provide a student-centered environment and to focus all
college staff and resources on student learning, student development and student
success.
VISION STATEMENT
We envision a world-class college that meets current and emerging community
needs for education and training through excellent service and outstanding
programs offered in stimulating learning environments.
MISSION AND PURPOSE
The mission of our college is to educate the whole person in a
learning-centered environment, recognizing our responsibilities to one another,
to our community, and to the world we share. We value excellence in teaching,
learning, and service as we maintain sensitivity to our role in a global,
multicultural community. We are committed to continuous improvement and
dedicated to providing accessible, affordable, and diverse learning
opportunities and environments.
ACADEMIC AFFAIRS GOALS
- Provide an environment that maximizes
student learning, retention and degree/certification completion for all
students, in accordance with Board policy.
- Strengthen communication and collaborative
partnerships across divisions that support the learning environment.
- Maintain a competitive edge in curriculum
to provide maximum opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- Implement continuous improvement
processes; course, program and project assessment and evaluation to ensure
academic effectiveness.
- Introduce new educational, cultural,
training and development programs for business, industry and community
organizations in a timely manner.
- Improve processes and procedures within
Academic Affairs to more effectively accomplish curriculum development,
budgeting, class scheduling, etc.
- Continuously update instructional
technology and introduce innovative applications of instructional delivery.
- Expand professional development for F/T
faculty, adjuncts, and staff in support of the college’s strategic
priorities.
- Implement appropriate methods of student
assessment that generate useful information to improve instructional
practices and contribute to the college’s institutional effectiveness.
