Prison Fire Safety, Recertification
Upon successful completion of the Illinois Department of Corrections Prison Fire Safety, Recertification training program, Corrections Officer recruits will receive up to 3 college credit hours. To earn college credit, a recruit must complete and submit a college application at the start of the training program.

Fire Prevention Principles I

Criminal Justice Associate in Applied Science Degree
(62 Credit hours)

  • As recognized, recruits will need only 59 credit hours to complete the degree by taking necessary courses at Moraine Valley and/or receiving credit through transfer courses from other colleges/universities attended.

Protective Services Certificate
(30/31 Credit hours)

  • As recognized, recruits will need only 28/27 credits to complete the certificate by taking courses at Moraine Valley and/or receiving transfer credit from another college.
