Corrections Officer
Upon successful completion of the 240 hour Illinois Department of Corrections
Academy Basic Corrections Officer training program, Corrections Officer recruits
will receive up to 17 college credit hours. To earn college credit, a recruit
must complete and submit a college application at the start of the
training program.

Criminal
Justice Associate in Applied Science Degree
(62 Credit hours)
- As recognized, recruits will need only 45
credit hours to complete the degree by taking necessary courses at
Moraine Valley Community College and/or receiving credit through transfer
courses from other colleges/universities attended.
Protective
Services Certificate
(30/31 Credit hours)
- As recognized, recruits will need only 9 credits to complete the certificate by taking courses at Moraine Valley and/or
receiving transfer
credit from another college.
