successfully complete the 400 hour Cook County Sheriff Institute
Basic Corrections Officer training program. To earn college credit, a recruit
must complete and submit a college application at the start of the training
program.

Criminal
Justice Associate in Applied Science Degree
(62 Credit hours)
- As recognized, recruits will need only 38
credit hours to complete the degree by taking necessary courses at
Moraine Valley and/or receiving credit through transfer
courses from other colleges/universities attended.
Protective
Services Certificate
(30/31 Credit hours)
- As recognized, recruits will need only 6
credits to complete the certificate by taking courses at Moraine Valley and/or
receiving transfer
credit from another college.
