The College and Community Relations Department ensures Moraine Valley maintains a positive image with its various constituents and communicates messages.
Working with local, regional, and national news media, including print and online newspapers, network and cable television stations, radio stations, and specialized publications such as magazines and newsletters, staff promotes the college and its many programs and services.
The department also is responsible for Valley View, the twice-monthly staff newsletter; the electronic message boards near campus entrances; promotional items; tours for school and community groups; permanent signage; institutional special events; and a variety of additional communications-related activities.
The mission of the College and Community Relations Department is to provide a quality, responsive communications program to staff, students, and the community.
To accomplish this mission, we will:
- Provide quality communications support and services for all areas of the college.
- Accurately and honestly promote the image and awareness of the college in the community through a comprehensive news media relations program.
- Enhance and promote positive employee relations through a comprehensive, proactive employee communications program.
- Increase awareness about the college through special events.
