CPR Series

CPR for Health Professionals
Meets the requirements for recognition as a Basic Life Support Rescuer for healthcare providers by the American Heart Association (AHA). This course is intended for those who are current healthcare professionals who have not attended a Healthcare Provider CPR courses since July 2001. One and two rescuer Adult and Pediatric CPR, Adult and Pediatric Foreign Body Airway Obstruction, use of barrier devices, and use of the AED are covered in this courses. Required textbook is available at the Moraine Valley bookstore however starting fall 2008 from the instructor in class. (.5 AEC)

CPR Re-recognition
This course is intended for those who are current students or professionals in the healthcare field. Requires a current Healthcare Provider CPR card or an expired Healthcare Provider CPR card of one month or less for admission into this course. An American Red Cross Standard Adult CPR card or American Heart Association Heartsaver CPR card does not fulfill this prerequisite. No exceptions. Optional: Bring previous textbook.

C.P.R. & FIRST AID INSTRUCTOR
Prerequisite: Participants must have a current American Heart Association CPR for Healthcare Providers card to enroll in this course. The course is designed for Healthcare Professionals who want to become certified to teach CPR, AED and First Aid. Course fee includes five books, pocket mask, instructor manual, and instructor toolkit with video. Upon successful completion of this course and being monitored, participants will be recognized as American Heart Association CPR/AED and First Aid instructors for two years. FIRST AID WITH CPR
This course covers the basics from breathing and cardiac emergencies, to caring for bleeding, sudden illnesses and injuries. This program is ideal for community members and employees of companies. All participants receive a card from AHA. Books available through the MVCC bookstore. Note: Healthcare professionals must take the additional CPR for Healthcare Professionals
