Real Estate Broker Pre-licensing (90 Course Hours)

There are two courses that are required to sit for your Broker exam with the State of Illinois. The following courses are licensed with the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation.

Broker Pre-License Topics — Course provides instruction in real estate fundamentals. Topics include license law, real property, agency basics, seller and buyer relationships and counseling, local, state and federal laws effecting real estate, brokerage, marketing and advertising, market analysis and appraisal, financing, contracts, independent contractor and employee status, and occupational disciplines and business planning. Textbook required. Study guide optional. Purchase textbook prior to first class and read chapters 1,2,3. Students are required to attend all sessions of class. (Required Broker Course)

Broker Pre-License Applied Real Estate Principles — Interactive course includes role play, situational and case study examples. Topics include listing presentation, buyer representation, agency disclosure, purchase agreements, handling offers, market analysis, fair housing, antitrust, and inspection/repair issues. Textbook required. Students are required to attend all sessions of class (Required Broker Course)

Real Estate Managing Broker Pre-Licensing (45 Course Hours)

There are two additional courses in addition to Broker courses to sit for the Managing Broker exam with the State of Illinois. The following courses are licensed with the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation.

Managing Broker Pre-License Topics — Course includes role play, situational and case study examples. Topics include listing presentation, buyer representation, agency disclosure, purchase agreements, handling offers, market analysis, fair housing, antitrust, and inspection/repair issues. Textbook required. Students are required to attend all sessions of class (Required Broker Course)

Managing Broker Pre-License Applied Management and Supervision Interactive — Course covers role playing, situational, and case study examples. Topics include brokerage contract disputes, minimum service activities, team activities, commission disputes, dual agency disclosure problems, escrow documents. Problem solving cases in a variety of topics such as short sales, foreclosure, clear title, confidentiality, ethics, and internet/social media. Textbook required. Students must attend all sessions of class. (Required Managing Broker Course)

Real Estate Associate Appraiser

The following courses are required courses to be an Associate Real Estate Appraiser. All courses are licensed by the Illinois Department of Professional and Financial Regulation.

Basic Appraisal Principles — This basis for advanced courses introduces appraisal theory, concepts, techniques, and the level of competence required to perform professional appraisal analysis. Textbook is required. Optional study guide. Student is required to attend all sessions.

Basic Appraisal Procedures — This course is designed to provide the understanding and working knowledge required to estimate the market value of properties through utilization of the three approaches to value. Covers extraction analysis of data, Types of depreciation, reconciliation of value and report writing. Textbook is required. Prerequisite: Basic Appraisal Principles (RE8-301) Student is required to attend all sessions of class.

National USPAP (15 Hours course) — Reviews standards of professional appraisal practice adopted by the Appraisal Foundation. Student must attend all session of class. Textbook required.

Appraisal Continuing Education

Moraine Valley is an approved provider of Appraisal Continuing Education. The following courses are approved for 7 hours each of CE. The appraisal renewal cycle is every odd number year.
