Gloria Coughlin has been head coach of the Moraine Valley women's volleyball team since the fall of 1989. She took a hiatus to watch her three daughters play Division I collegiate volleyball in 2000 and returned as head coach in 2003. During her tenure at the helm she has posted a 488-307 career record. In 2010 she coached her team to the NJCAA Division II tournament for the first time in her tenure. She also coached the college's former men's volleyball team for four years (1997-2000), compiling a 58-12 record and leading the team to Midwest Collegiate Volleyball Association league championships in 1998 and 1999. Coughlin, athlete success coordinator at Moraine Valley, is a former coach at the Celtic Force Volleyball Club (2000-2008), and former head coach of the Marian Catholic High School boy's volleyball team (2000-2005). She also currently coaches for Michio Volleyball Academy. She was inducted into both the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference and NJCAA Region IV Hall of Fame in 2007 and has been a four-time Coach of the Year. Coughlin, who played volleyball at Michigan State University, has a bachelor's degree from Governors State University.
Donna Zidek has served as assistant coach since 2004. The American Volleyball Coaches Association named her the 2010 Two-Year Colleges National Assistant Coach of the Year. She also coaches for the Michio Volleyball Academy. She had coached at the Celtic Force Volleyball Club, where she was a two-time national champion coach, and was the former director and head coach of the Windy City Volleyball Club. Zidek played volleyball and was First Team All-American at the University of St. Francis. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame at both the University of St. Francis and Queen of Peace High School. |
