As of 2012, Jim Knawa is in his eighth season at the helm of Moraine Valley's women's soccer. The 2011 squad finished with a 12-5-1 record, including 11 shutout games. From that team, four players were named to the NJCAA All-Region IV team and six were on the Illinois Skyway Collegiate All-Conference team. Since 2009, the squad boasted 20 players on either the conference or region teams. Knawa has been actively involved in coaching various youth sports in several capacities since 1980, including high school teams in their off-season. He owns a local business and is a college instructor of management and marketing.
Laura Turk joins the Cyclones as assistant coach in 2012. She previously coached soccer at Argo High School and several southwest suburban clubs since 2001, and also coached track at Sandburg and Argo high schools. Turk is a Moraine Valley alum, where she also played soccer, and has a Bachelor of Arts from Monmouth College and a Master of Arts in Education from Saint Xavier University. |
