The 2011-12 season is Delwyn Jones' 12th year as head coach of the Moraine Valley women’s basketball team. Jones has been named Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference coach of the year for five seasons—2009-10, 2008-09, 2007-08, 2006-07, and 2003-04. As a four-sport athlete (football, basketball, baseball, and cross-country) at Luther South High School, Jones captained his basketball and baseball teams. He also received All-Conference honors in basketball and baseball, leading the Private School League in steals (baseball) as a junior. He is still very active in recreational sports. Jones, an assistant professor of Communications/Speech at the college, received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Western Illinois University. He also is president of the Moraine Valley Faculty Association.
Jeff Larson played for the Cyclones from 2002-04. A graduate of Carl Sandburg High School, he continued his playing career at North Central College in Naperville, where he earned a bachelor's degree in sports management. He has worked with the professional women's basketball team, the Chicago Sky.
Kathleen Zulevic has been an assistant Cyclone coach since 2010. She played basketball at Mother McAuley High School and graduated in 2005 before playing for the Cyclones from 2005-07. Zulevic graduated from the Soma Institute in 2009 and currently works as a clinical massage therapist in a doctor’s office for several sports teams. |
