AutoCAD® Foundations

Introduction to AutoCAD®
This is a pre-course for the individual who has never used AutoCAD® before. This seminar is designed to orient and familiarize the CAD novice to the world of Autodesk® Computer Aided Drafting and Design. This learning experience covers the most basic AutoCAD® concepts. Students learn to create a simple drawing. Prerequisite: Knowledge of Windows operating system and drafting experience.

AutoCAD® Professional Essentials
This is the most fundamental of AutoCAD® courses, teaching the most basic drafting skills. Students learn to create simple drawings, to make simple modifications to existing drawings and to plot. In this course, we emphasize mechanics, rules and rote-based exercises. The person completing this course will have the skills to use AutoCAD® as an electronic drafting design tool. Prerequisite: Knowledge of Windows operating system and drafting experience.

AUTOCAD® CREATING AND PRESENTING 3D MODELS
This course is for the designer who needs to create, modify, evaluate and test designs. In this course, we manipulate three-dimensional objects on a two-dimensional screen. Designed for people with little or no AutoCAD 3D experience, this course guide you through the creation of 3D models from simple primitive and wire frame models to sophisticated solids and surfaces for composite solid model creation. Once this skill is mastered, we will learn the strengths and weaknesses of each type, and when and why to use one or the other. Once the model is designed, learn the new techniques to visualize and plot 3D objects. This course is AIA/CES approved.

NEW! AUTOCAD® PRODUCTIVITY WITH TOOL PALETTES
This one-day seminar is designed for the professional user the using AutoCAD 2004-2009 for the creation and modification tool palettes. Increase productivity without the understanding of how to program or customize AutoCAD. Learn hidden techniques, management techniques and the sharing of tool palettes and tool palette groups. Export and import tool palettes. Knowledge of AutoCAD and the Windows operating system and drafting experience recommended.

AUTOCAD® Inventor Professional Suite
This course introduces the designer or engineer to Autodesk’s® new 3D, feature-based solid modeling and drawing production system. In this course, we introduce adaptive architecture that allows the 3D models to “adapt” to changes as they occur. This course looks at parametric 3D technology and significant performance increase associated with large assembly modeling. We will design 3D models, assemblies and drawings creation, and learn to recognize the strengths and weaknesses during the design intent phase of modeling. Prerequisite: Knowledge of Windows operating system and 3D-design experience.

Autodesk Architectural Segment
 
AUTODESK REVIT ARCHITECTURE ESSENTIALS
This course familiarizes the students with Autodesk’s newest architectural software, Autodesk Revit, one of the parametric database modeling technology available to the AEC industry. Upon completion of this course the student should be able to set up, develop, design and construct documents. The importance of creating a live database model will be emphasized as part of each project. This course is AIA/CES approved.

AUTODESK REVIT ARCHITECTURE ADVANCED
This courseware covers a wide range of advanced topics in Autodesk Revit Architecture, continuing to build on the concepts introduced in the Autodesk Revit Architecture Essentials course. Students learn about site design, advanced rendering techniques, phasing and design options, creating families of custom components, and collaborating on a design. This courseware offers both imperial and metric hands-on exercises representing real-world design scenarios.

Updating Your Skills

AUTOCAD 2011: TRANSITIONING FROM AUTOCAD 2010
This one-day course explores the new commands and features of AutoCAD 2011. If you are an AutoCAD 2010 user, this course is for you! It updates your skills to AutoCAD 2011. Prerequisite: Knowledge of AutoCAD® and the Windows® operating system and drafting experience recommended.

AUTOCAD UPDATE
This hands-on course builds on your previous AutoCAD experience from AutoCAD 2009 to AutoCAD2011. Learn the new AutoCAD® User Interface, updated layering tools, fields, tables, Annotation scaling, updated dimensioning techniques, the action recorder, updated properties panel usage, recovery tools, tool palette updates, multilayer tools, updates to text and Mtext, external reference updates and simple user customizing techniques.
Prerequisite: Experience with AutoCAD.
