GET READY—Placement

Prepare for Orientation

  • Request Transcripts and DD214
  • Register for the COMPASS placement test using MVConnect or at Registration Office (Building S, Room 103)
  • Pay $25 exam fee online or at Cashier’s office in Building S, Room S105
  • Complete placement exams (COM, MTH, RDG) in Testing Services in Building S, Room S101
  • Bring all documents (COE, DD214, placement exam results) to Building S, Room S216, to schedule
    a date for Orientation

GET REGISTERED—Educational Planning

Orientation

  • Receive veteran information and college resource overview
  • Choose courses and register for classes
  • Depending on type of benefits, make payment if required
  • Get photo ID at Information Desk (Building S, first floor)
  • Purchase books and supplies at college Bookstore (Building D, Room D144). Consider the book rental program

GET INVOLVED—Take Ownership of Your Education

Be a Successful Student

  • Learn what to expect, read syllabus, attend all classes
  • Visit Academic Skills Center (Building L, Room L200) for tutoring
  • If any change in schedule is necessary, contact veterans coordinator, Building S, Room S216
  • Verify enrollment monthly through the WAVE system (if applicable)
  • Get Involved! Join Combat to College. Visit Student Life office in Building U, Room U115, to learn about other campus clubs and organizations

GET THROUGH—Next Steps

Prepare to Register for Next Semester

  • Make sure all transcripts from previous colleges have been evaluated
  • Meet with academic advisor in Building S, Room S201, to plan and approve courses
  • Complete Semesterly Intake forms to continue benefits
  • Register for classes—veterans receive Priority Registration

GET YOUR DEGREE—Completion

Graduation

  • File petition for graduation by deadline date
  • Contact Veterans Services office of transfer institution (if applicable)
  • Graduate and celebrate!
