WIA Adult & Dislocated Worker Programs Through the Workforce Investment Act program, our office provides workforce development services to low-income adults and dislocated workers. Stop by the resource room in Building T, Room T904, to use Internet-based employment services, fax machine, phones, copier, book and videos, and other employment-related resources to help with job searches. Vocational training programs are available based on eligibility and approval from our funding program. Core Services Core services include basic eligibility determination and other informational services, use of the resource room and career services available through Illinois workNet. Core services such as the resource room are self-access services which do not involve staff assistance.
Intensive Services Intensive services involve working with a staff member either individually or in small groups, and developing an individual employment plan. To access these services persons must qualify as an eligible WIA participant and be formally enrolled in the program.
Training Services Training is available after enrollment and a formal assessment with a case manager. Some training may not be funded if local labor market data does not indicate sufficient wages and a positive growth rate within the occupation or industry.
