Underprepared Students Project Plans

Colleges will expand the number of
options for learning (lecture, laboratories, project-based, teams mentoring,
field experience, etc.) currently offered to underprepared students.
Outcomes:
-
Initiated
COL-101―College: Changes, Challenges and Choices - a course focused on
college success that is required of all new full-time students.

Revised IELP:
Intensive English Language Program for students whose first language is
other than English who want to pursue college level coursework.

Offer traditional
and online tutoring for all students; including specific programs developed
for nursing, information management systems and other career programs.

Provide
online/web-assisted delivery of developmental courses―all levels of
math, and the highest level courses of reading and communication are offered
in an online or Web-assisted format.

Expanded
programming at off campus sites located in underserved areas of the Moraine
Valley district.
In progress/Planned:

Investigate
offering development courses using a modular based curriculum.

Review methods of
delivering open entry-open exit instructions as appropriate diagnostic test
instruments are identified.
