Staff Recruitment and Development Project Plans 2000-2002

Outcomes:

• Established and staffed the Center for Teaching and Learning

• Created ongoing schedule of offerings to assist faculty members in their role as learning facilitators

• Implemented ongoing Learning Challenge grant program to faculty as incentive to explore new modes of instructional delivery; e.g. online courses

• Provide ongoing funding for off-campus professional development activities and professional conference attendance

• Issue special service contracts to faculty to participate in professional development activities outside of their normal workload

• Award professional growth units toward lane movement to faculty attending conferences, workshops, etc.

• Provide tuition reimbursement for classes taken at other academic institutions

• Established partnerships with businesses; e.g., Cisco, Addison Wesley, University of Chicago
