Action steps
Highlighted steps will be addressed in
2002 and 2003. Other steps will be prioritized at the conclusion of Year 1 and
remanded to Years 2, 3, and beyond.
- Identify
changes that need to be made in current programs, services and delivery
systems to attract and retain diverse students.
- Encourage
the integration of global and/or multicultural perspectives into college
programs and services.
- Set
objectives for yearly enrollment growth, including retention, for minorities
and underserved communities, and provide supporting marketing and
recruitment activities.
- Improve
the success of at-risk students through intervention and support strategies.
- Develop
a formal staff recruitment and retention program to ensure diversity in all
employee groups.
- Conduct
long-term training programs for college employees on understanding
diversity.
