Moraine Valley Center for Sustainability

Message from the President

While we have had green practices in place for years at the college, I am very excited about our continued efforts to develop new opportunities that can help to conserve energy, reduce waste, and make for a healthier environment. In 2010, we opened the Southwest Education Center in Tinley Park, the college's first LEED certified building. We are very proud of the sustainable features in this building, and we look forward to incorporating measures for all of our facilities so they will be more environmentally sustainable.

The college also offers classes, workshops and other events to help businesses develop green methods, guide homeowners to make positive lifestyle changes, and teach our citizenry how to make conscious decisions that help to sustain the earth. As the movement to go green accelerates throughout the world, I am proud to report Moraine Valley continues to improve upon our practices that support the maintenance and health of our environment for future generations.

Sincerely,

Vernon O. Crawley, D.Ed.
