The Office of International Student Affairs provides services for applicants and
international students enrolled at Moraine Valley Community College. Our
services include academic advising, new student orientation, social and
educational events, immigration advising, and housing assistance. Our goal is to
enable international students to have successful academic, cultural and personal
experiences while enrolled at the college. At Moraine Valley, we view the
presence of international students on our campus as an opportunity for students
and community members to gain broader knowledge of the diverse and multicultural
world we share.

The Job Resource Center's mission is to support the career development process
of students by helping them make effective job and career decisions. We assist
students with the development and implementation of short- and long-term job
search plans, and provide a bridge for students from the educational experience
to the world of work. We also develop linkages with business, government,
education, and community services to strengthen the college image and
communicate an understanding of the relationship of education to work.

The Student Life Office is designed to enhance the educational goals of the
students through co-curricular activities. The program provides educational
opportunities through practical implementation. The Student Life Office develops
students through the presentation of intellectual, recreational, service and
social activities at the college and in the community.

The Student Support Services program at Moraine Valley is a federal TRIO grant
program funded through the U.S. Department of Education designed to help
first-generation college students, economically disadvantaged students, and
students with disabilities succeed in college. The goal of the program is to
help students graduate from Moraine Valley and transfer to a four-year
institution to complete a bachelor's degree.

Moraine Valley's Educational Talent Search is a federal TRIO grant program
funded through the U.S. Department of Education. The program is designed to
motivate and encourage participants to stay in school, graduate and enroll or
re-enroll in post-secondary education. Our program requires that participants
meet the federal guidelines for low-income and/or first generation-potential
college-bound students, in grades six through twelve, from the following
schools: Calumet Elementary School, Hale Middle School, Kellar Middle School,
Kerr Middle School, Veteran's Memorial School, Dwight D. Eisenhower High School,
and Harold L. Richards High School.
TRIO Upward Bound (S219)

Moraine Valley's Upward Bound program is a TRIO program federally funded through
the U.S. Department of Education. It prepares students to be successful in high
school and enroll in college by providing a variety of services designed to
improve academic, career and personal skills. The services, such as tutoring,
ACT/SAT preparation and college planning, are offered during the school year
(academic component) and in a six-week summer program (summer component) on the
Moraine Valley campus. The students are in grades nine through twelve and attend
Dwight D. Eisenhower High School in Blue Island. They are expected to commit to
Upward Bound until they complete high school, and successfully enroll in
postsecondary education.
