TRANSFER OPTIONS
Southern Illinois University at Carbondale (SIUC)
Major: Fire Science Management, Capstone Option
Through Southern Illinois University's Capstone Option, students with a Moraine
Valley Fire Science Technology A.A.S. degree are able to earn a baccalaureate
degree in Fire Science Management in minimal time (60 semester hours beyond the
A.A.S.). The SIU Fire Science Management Capstone program is held at Triton
Community College, 2000 Fifth Ave., River Grove, Illinois 60171. For more

In addition to earning the Moraine Valley Fire Science A.A.S. degree, Capstone
students must satisfy the following Southern Illinois University Core Curriculum
requirements:
English - 3 credit hours
COM-101 with a grade of "C" or better
Speech - 3 credit hours
COM-103
Social/Behavioral Sciences - 6 credit hours - Select two courses from
different subject areas.
Only one course from History can be selected.

This program requires two applications to SIU:
one for Capstone and one for Undergraduate Admissions. A minimum grade point
average of 2.25 (4.0 scale), and some additional coursework beyond Moraine
Valley's Fire Science Technology A.A.S. degree. See a Moraine Valley academic
