Mission
The mission of the Addictions Studies Certification Program at Moraine Valley Community College is to prepare students to become effective
alcoholism/substance abuse counselors who are able to work in a variety of settings in the
addictions field. Students who complete the
addictions Studies Certification Program will be able to meet the educational requirements in all core functions of the state certification board for
addictions counselors and will have demonstrated competency through the completion of a practicum experience in a
substance abuse community organization.
