Psychology is the scientific study of human and animal behavior, along with the biological and mental processes which underlie behavior. Students planning to major in psychology are encouraged to complete foundational coursework in the sciences and mathematics, along with a core of basic psychology courses. Students interested in psychology as a four-year major should consult the catalog of their transfer school and an academic advisor for requirements appropriate to the first two years of study. College catalogs and transfer guides for many four-year colleges are available in the Academic Advising Center.
