If you’re an adult considering college, but concerned how you’ll fit classes around your family, job, and other responsibilities, Moraine Valley Community College can help. Moraine Valley offers free adult information sessions Wednesdays, Aug. 5 and 12, and Sept. 2, at 6 p.m., in the Student Union (Building U) Formal Dining Room, U111, on campus, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills. An off-campus session will be held Aug. 19, at 7 p.m., at the Palos Heights Public Library, 12501 S. 71st Ave. The audience for these sessions includes adults who have never stepped foot onto a college campus, adults who are in a career transition and students who have taken classes at the college but have not pursued a degree. This is an opportunity to get a sense of the college scene before committing to college coursework.
During these sessions, college staff will discuss details about the college and the benefits of a college education. Career programs and degrees are explained, as well as programs and resources offered to low-income adults, displaced workers and adults returning to the workplace. The information sessions will conclude with a question-and-answer session. Opportunities to apply for enrollment are available that evening. Refreshments will be served.
